The Cleaner Brent app lets residents report and take photographs of the street issues, using their smart phone, and submit them to Veolia, who will then take the appropriate remedial action.
The reports that are generated by residents feed directly into Veolia’s operational management system, which creates an ‘event’ for the team to attend to. Once the issue has been rectified, it is closed down in the system, which then sends a notification to the original raiser of the event.
Andrew Reidy, Veolia’s General Manager for North London, said: “We know how proud Brent residents are of the streets they live in and this is an excellent way for residents to interact with us to ensure we can respond to problems quickly, helping us with our own efforts to keep the streets of Brent as clean and as welcoming as possible.”
Cllr Roxanne Mashari, Lead Member for Environment & Neighbourhoods, said: “We have made sure that Brent's new public realm contract makes the best use of modern technology. This smartphone app is a fast and easy way to report fly tipping and a range of waste and recycling issues. I would urge everyone to download this free app and to play their part in reporting illegal fly tipping in Brent.”
The ‘Cleaner Brent’ app is now available through both the Apple store (search for Brent Council) and also directly through the Brent app store.
