To welcome in the spring, the council is launching a two-week town-wide spring clean on Friday 4 March, and is looking for local residents to get involved.

The start of the spring clean happily coincides with the national Clean for the Queen campaign (4-6 March) and the council is aiming to have the highest number of clean-up activities of any town in the UK.

You can help the council to achieve this goal by organising a clean-up in your street, around your school or office or perhaps in your local park. Our partners at Veolia, who do a great job of cleaning the town, will be happy to provide clean-up kits – including litter-pickers and special purple bin-bags.

You can plan your clean-up anytime between 4 and 18 March – just email or call Veolia to order your kit; they’ll need a date and time, and the area you are going to clean-up. The kits are subject to availability, and its first come, first served, so get in touch now. Email [email protected] or call 0203 567 6900 during office hours.

All the clean-ups will be plotted on a map on the council website www.watford.gov.uk/springclean  Please also share your photos on social media using the hashtag #springclean
