Here are five facts about SELCHP

1. The site can process 435,000 tonnes of general waste per year. 

2. Every year the site generates 35MWh of electricity, enough to power . To date, the facility has generated over 5 million MWh of electricity 

3. So far, it's diverted 10 million tonnes of waste away from landfill, where it was recovered instead.

4. In 2014, Veolia and Southwark Council won the 'Peer Award for Excellence' in the sustainability and environment category, for creating London's first energy from waste district heating network.

5. In 2024, SELCHP celebrates 30 years of being in operation!
